Quick answer

  • Wise describes automatic e-FIRC delivery for eligible receipts through Business account details.
  • Other eligible business INR transfers may require a sender-provided NOC and the processing partner bank.
  • An INR-looking bank credit alone does not identify the remittance route or settle export eligibility.

Did the client pay my Business account details or send a separate transfer?

Start with the payment confirmation, not the wording on the Indian bank statement. Wise’s FIRC help separates the Business-account-details route from a partner-bank advice route for other eligible business INR transfers. Ask the sender for the transfer details if you cannot see them yourself.

What you establishWhere to investigate next
Receipt through your Wise Business account detailsThe transfer’s e-FIRC option and your registered email
A different business INR transferWhether the sender can obtain an NOC and which partner bank processed it
Only an INR credit is availableThe sender confirmation and route details; do not guess from the narration

Where is the e-FIRC for a Wise Business receipt?

For receipts through Business account details, Wise says the e-FIRC is generated automatically and emailed within three business days after processing. Its help also describes a PDF option under the selected transfer’s menu. Check the processing date, registered inbox and transfer detail rather than counting from the invoice date.

Save the original PDF with the payment reference. Check who received the payment, the currency information and the period or transaction it covers. If the document is absent after the stated processing window, contact Wise through its official support process with the reference; avoid sending account documents to an unverified contact found in a search result.

What if the sender needs to obtain an NOC?

For the partner-bank route described in Wise’s help, the sender retrieves the NOC from the relevant transfer and shares it with the recipient. The NOC identifies the processing bank. Follow that bank’s current advice process; an NOC is a supporting document in that process, not an automatic substitute for a FIRA.

Wise limits this NOC route to business INR transfers and says e-FIRCs are not available for every other type of INR transfer. Do not assume that a personal transfer, a reimbursement and a business invoice settlement have identical documentation. Ask the provider to classify the actual route instead of relabelling the transaction yourself.

What should I keep with the Wise payment?

  • The client invoice and any agreed milestone schedule.
  • The sender or account-receipt confirmation and transaction reference.
  • The actual INR bank credit and settlement date.
  • The e-FIRC or partner-bank advice, plus the NOC if that route required it.
  • Any explanation of an unresolved difference, with the reviewer and next action.

This bundle helps a reviewer follow the payment. It does not itself prove that all conditions for an export of services are satisfied. For example, the underlying service and parties still matter. Use the first-client checklist to assemble the wider record set, and keep the payment shortfall checklist beside any ambiguous credit.

Questions people ask

Does Wise provide e-FIRC for every INR transfer?
No. Wise’s help explicitly distinguishes eligible Business-account-details receipts from other INR transfers. Confirm the route and current document availability with Wise.
Who downloads the NOC: me or my foreign client?
For the sender-side route described by Wise, the sender retrieves the NOC from the transfer. The recipient then uses it with the processing partner bank.
Is an NOC the same document as a FIRA?
No. In the described process the NOC helps obtain advice from the partner bank. Keep both documents when the process requires them.
Can I use the INR narration alone as proof of export?
The narration is one record, not a complete export determination. Obtain the route-specific advice and have the underlying service and applicable conditions reviewed.
