How to download PayPal FIRA in India and match the withdrawals
PayPal India describes a free weekly Digital FIRA in the Business account’s reporting area. Download the right period, inspect which withdrawals it covers and keep the transaction report separately so each bank credit can be traced back to client invoices.

Quick answer
- PayPal’s current India page describes weekly Digital FIRA reports, not one certificate for every client invoice.
- Older periods and custom requests can use a different process.
- A payout, customer payment, invoice and FIRA are different records; connect them rather than treating them as interchangeable.

Where do I find the weekly Digital FIRA?
Use PayPal’s official India FIRA instructions and sign in through PayPal itself. The documented path is the Business account’s Reports area, then Tax and the FIRA report. Select the relevant available period and download the PDF. Menu labels may vary as the interface changes.
PayPal says an email notification is sent when the weekly report is ready. Before treating an absent report as a failure, check the covered withdrawal dates and the available reporting period. A weekly report can include several withdrawals; a client’s original payment date need not be the date a bank withdrawal was credited.
Why can’t I find an older or individual FIRA?
The current PayPal page places the weekly process from February 2026 and describes earlier periods on a monthly basis. It also limits the standard report history to twelve months and provides a separate custom-request process for exceptions. Confirm availability for your actual dates rather than trying to recreate a certificate.
Keep a simple missing-document record: the withdrawal reference, date range, reason the standard report is insufficient and the provider support reference. Follow the official page for any custom request. This article deliberately does not repeat bank-account payment instructions: verify current charges and payment details through the provider’s official process before paying.
How do I connect a weekly FIRA to client invoices?
| Link in the trail | Your review question |
|---|---|
| Client invoice → customer payment | Which invoice or milestone did the payer intend to settle? |
| Customer payment → provider activity | Which transaction reference and currency are recorded? |
| Activity → withdrawal | Which transactions and adjustments were included in this payout? |
| Withdrawal → bank credit | Does the withdrawal reference agree with the actual bank receipt? |
| Bank credit → FIRA period | Is that withdrawal included in the downloaded advice? |
Fictional example: two clients pay two separate invoices and PayPal later sends a combined withdrawal. Keep the two client payments distinct, link both to the withdrawal, and retain the weekly advice covering it. Do not copy the whole withdrawal amount onto both invoices. A combined payout is a reason to build an allocation, not a reason to invent another invoice.
Do I also need the PayPal transaction report?
The advice and activity export answer different questions. PayPal’s report instructions describe downloading activity by report type and period. Use the activity file to investigate the underlying transactions, fees, reversals or refunds, and the bank statement to verify what actually landed.
Keep the original exports unchanged. If you make a working spreadsheet, retain the source filename and transaction reference on each row. Explain any difference rather than quietly altering the raw report. The monthly CA handoff provides a suggested folder and exception list.
Questions people ask
- Is PayPal’s weekly Digital FIRA free?
- PayPal’s current India page describes the standard weekly Digital FIRA as free. Custom requests are a separate process and may have charges; check the current official instructions.
- Does one weekly FIRA cover multiple withdrawals?
- It can. Review the withdrawals listed in the report and link them to the appropriate bank credits and underlying client payments.
- Is a PayPal transaction CSV itself a FIRA?
- No. The activity export and the remittance advice serve different purposes. Keep both where relevant and preserve the references connecting them.
- Can Blackbird generate a bank-issued FIRA if mine is missing?
- No. Request the issuer’s document through its official process. Blackbird can help retain and review the evidence you obtain.
